xTech serves as an entry point into the U.S. Army’s synchronized innovation ecosystem, connecting nontraditional innovators with the Army through prize competitions, and breaking down traditional barriers to collaboration.
Annually, xTech holds a competition for HBCU students to get fresh ideas. Ball-n-Co. engages in helping the students in the competition take their concepts and create working prototypes. The videos below show the final working prototypes for 2025.
AuthentiWave secures autonomous systems by creating unique signal "fingerprints" from timing, frequency, metadata, and phase. Stored in an adaptive, secure database, these evolving fingerprints detect and filter malicious interference in real time, countering deceptive jamming.
Traditional anti-jamming methods aim to avoid or scramble interference and fail against deceptive jammers that mimic legit signals. AuthentiWave uses layered verification—combining signal processing and machine learning—to detect and counter deceptive jamming in dynamic, high-threat environments.
Voice-Activated Command System (VACs) turns soldiers into active battlefield collaborators via advanced Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and a resilient decentralized network, improving operational efficiency, health monitoring, and situational awareness.
VACs include a smart helmet with NLU that captures spoken commands, sends them to a processing hub, and converts them into hands-free, context-aware instructions usable even in high-noise combat zones. The helmets pair with a drone to a decentralized mesh network, maintaining robust communication even if individual nodes are disrupted.
QuantumShield is a “Quantum-Secured Dynamic Tactical System for Autonomous Vehicles” that ensures unbreakable encryption for autonomous military vehicles (AVs) by using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and AI-driven decision-making, enabling secure, autonomous operations in contested environments.
It uses Quantum Key Distribution, which can run continuously in the background, updating keys frequently (many times per second). This means even if an old key was compromised by a hostile intercept, a new secure key is soon in place.
Autonomous Smart Supply & Inventory Chain System (ASSICS) is a secure, dual-platform logistics solution that delivers real-time inventory visibility, enables frontline reporting, and provides command-level oversight.
Powered by predictive analytics and protected by robust cybersecurity, ASSICS anticipates supply needs, prevents shortages, reduces costs, and ensures mission readiness.
